I got a receipt from PayPal that said $339.99 and a receipt from eBay that said $271.99. I'm confused now, why doesnt the PayPal one say $271.99? I messaged the seller to clear it up.

I haven't read the fine print, but is the 20% coming as a later credit from eBay? I'm sure the seller is still going to get his $340, as this discount is offered by eBay.

Hah, I was planning to pick up an additional AppleTV this weekend, so I jumped at this. Hazzah to the Internet, for fostering our impulse buying needs!

In fairness, it’s only discounted by eBay. It’s not like Best Buy or any other retailers are discounting it. That said, as far as your Siri comment is concerned, it actually works quite well with the sensitivity with the microphone and it responds really well to commands. So unless you have used the HomePod, I’m not sure how you can say “It kills this product.”

Because I use siri with my iphone it's not very good. At least compared to other assistants.

That and almost every review you read says siri is this products biggest weakness. So by that logic....

My CC was only charged the discounted amount.
Pending PAYPAL *ALLDAYZIPJA $271.99

I have very little experience with eBay, and I'd love to buy a second HomePod for this price.

But I'm a little sketch about this seller — 100% of their reviews are positive one-liners… https://www.ebay.com/usr/alldayzip

Am I missing something here ?

I clicked on the HomePod link and it took me to a search field for HomePod , then when I search that seller , I cAnt find his list of items for sale ,

I really don’t want to miss out on this deal
, is the item off ?

US only....sigh.
Worked in Canada and even allowed me $100 USD off which was like $125 CAD.

I bought a new iPad with Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil for $800 CAD, after discount it came to $650 (also had some PayPal credit).

The seller had no feedback, but has been a member since last year, so I’m hopeful it’s not a scam. But I always have ebays money back guarantee, or PayPal to fall back on.

It’s the vibe. Fair has nothing to do with it. It is the way it is.

Thing is, Apple didn’t do anything about SIRI for a long time. So while it was once the best, it got leapfrogged by Alexa and Google assistant. Apple’s failure to leapfrog its competitors with a new, upgraded SIRI before launching HomePod was really stupid, because it’s inadequacies have killed prospects for a new product line.

I have no idea what you’re talking about here. The only reason I stated in fairness, it was only discounted by eBay and not any other major retailer in store. Clearly you misconstrued what I was saying.

You correlating Siri with the HomePod experience actually isn’t making it any less desirable than it is. Siri is not perfect, but it doesn’t have to be to make the HomePod not a successful product. The Apple Watch, the AirPods and HomePod all use Siri ubiquitously rather well. It hasn’t “Killed” the product line at all, especially since they’re expanding with other accessories with Siri.

Yes it is. It isnt fair that an outstanding sounding speaker for its size and price is being bagged out across the interwebs, but it is. And it is because it is a smart speaker and SIRI performs poorly and is outdated compared with its competitors

Apple dropped the ball and a new product category will be less successful than it should have been. It reminds me of what happened to the Apple Newton. In fact, quite parallel.

Starting to wonder if this was even real. Lots of reports of scammed credit card numbers are fraud orders. Has anyone received anything from this seller or have had a shipping confirmation?

I can see giving a deal on Apple TV products, but the HomePod deal seemed to good to be true.
