Ebay Refurb can I purchase apple care?

I have seen some good deals on eBay for refurb iMac 27 5K. Can I purchase apple care on refurb computers bought on eBay?

I though I saw something that you can only buy apple care on Apple Store bought refurbished iMacs.

Please advise!

Just make sure you get a copy of the original date of sale to be sure of this. You can take out AppleCare if it is within a 12 month period of the sale. Technically only Apple sells 'refurbs'. Often preferred Resellers such as OWC are allowed to sell these refurbs.
