There are quite a few offerings on eBay for new front and rear casings so I’m soliciting feedback, good and bad, on their quality from those who’ve purchased them, and sellers to recommend or avoid.

There is even one seller offering customized storage size engraving, such as 512GB and 1TB.

The back of the used iPod classic I just got has significant scratches and a big dimple on the rear case. I read a post from someone elsewhere that he was avoiding these eBay rear cases out of fear of inferior thin construction which implied these would be prone to denting and distortion. Not sure if this is a real concern or just FUD.

I got an iPod front panel from allie express for a 6th gen classic in red that was great for about $10 bucks. Ended up not using it since the whole pod was a pain in the butt, but I used the guts I bought in a 5.5 that works great now.
