There are some software applications of low cost that allow you to ebooks to your iphone. But sometimes memory is the constraint.

I have Stanza and Classics, which although you are stuck with the books it comes with has a really nice interface. They're supposed to be adding more books with each update but there hasn't been one since July! 🙁
