Hi There,

Hoping someone might be able to help figure this one out.

We bought my partner a Series 4 Apple Watch in Australia and we set it up there. given the geo fencing of the ECG app I didn’t expect it to be active at the time.

We’re now home in the UK, the iPhone, the iTunes account are all UK. The sim is a UK one. The ECG app still hasn’t appeared.

Things i’ve tried:

Restart watch and phone
Unpair and re pair watch with restore from back up
Go to health app on phone > Heart > ECG (but no set up button or options present).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had exactly the same issue (in the UK), no ECG app was appearing.

It was down to the watch OS needing updating to 5.2, which you do via the Watch app on the iPhone. If you go into the Watch App and choose Software Update.

Once this had updated (took ages), the ECG app appeared and I could go through the wizard to set it up.

Hope that helps.

I know you’re in the UK now but is ECG available in Australia? I thought ECG availability was down to where the watch itself was purchased? I could be wrong though.

Here is the latest list of countries where the ECG App is available. Unfortunately Australia is not yet on the list, where you purchased the watch.

I have same issue but unfortunately it is due to purchasing my watch in Australia. We won’t have ECG functionality until it is released in Australia.
