Anyone that has North of $40K to blow on a lunch with Eddy Cue isn't in need of a job. They actually are in need of some psychological attention by someone certified in the area of unbelievably stupid people.

He can't discuss anything that's protected by NDA, so you won't get any privileged information on things Apple is working on.

People who got $$$, and therefore business smart, would not be interested in what apple is working on. They would check Macrumors for that. Knowing what Apple is working on is not real information (ok, you might guess what the stock market would do, but it's still a gamble). A business man would discuss about methodologies, improvement, production analysis and other boring stuff. You know, the stuff that makes you a richer individual, not the stuff that makes you an informed consumer. Plus it may be a decent opportunity for networking with a well known and respected individual.

Anyone that would spend $40K on a lunch with Cue is richer than Cue is, so i don't know what Cue could say that would be worth $40K+.

Cue doesn't know much about production analysis or methodologies. Plus, I know other sources that are proven better than anything he could come up with. he can't even get iTunes app s/w to work that well. There is so much room for improvement, but Cue obviously isn't interested in making it better, that's why people like myself have to buy a 3rd party app.

Networking? For what? A rich person already knows how to network, if they have that kind of money to blow, it doesn't take long to get to know someone else in the industry if you have lots of money. All one would have to do is call the guy up on the telephone, introduce yourself, and if he wanted to socialize then he'd let you know, if not, then it wouldn't be such a great loss. Not everyone in upper management at Apple is someone I would want to socialize with. I think Ive and Federighi would be cool to hang out with. Cook would probably bore me to death. Angela might be worthwhile hanging out with. But Cue? Nope. The only reason I would have to hang out with Cue would be to tell him to get his act together or move aside and let someone else do his job. I'm not convinced Cue knows what he's doing anymore.

Not all well known people are people I would want to hang out with. That's not a crucial thing to look for. Respected? By whom? I know others that either work or have worked at Apple that don't particularly care for the guy. So, I'm trying to figure out who respects him. I thought he looked like he just came from a late night dance club at the interview he did with Iovine right after they bought Beats. I thought he looked and came off rather unprofessional, plus so far, Apple hasn't introduced anything that special and he said that Apple has the best line up in 25 years in terms of what they are going to announce. So far, they haven't really announced anything that special, so I think the guy is filled with hot air.
