Edge logo?

Hello, whenever i make a call on the iphone the blue edge logo disappears. Is this normal? thanks!

Yes it is normal. GSM 2.5 (which is what EDGE is), is disabled when making a call because the call takes up the entire bandwidth (so there is none for the EDGE to use). If you need access to the internet while on the phone, you must be near a WiFi network.

ok, thanks! I just noticed this today..ive had my iphone since christmas

I've also noticed the "E"...

in the EDGE logo disappears while loading a page, but it reappears a few seconds later, but the blue box seems to stay put.😕

I believe the Blue Box with out the "E" is just plain old GPRS (GSM 2.0).
