I see a lot of threads about how poorly Chrome handles memory. Is that a Chromium issue that impacts all Chromium based browsers? or is it specific to Chrome? I use Safari for most of my browsing, but do keep a copy of Edge on my machine for when I need it. I haven't noticed any crazy memory usage, but I'm not sure if that is because Edge doesn't have the same issue, or that I just don't use it enough to have run into a site that really taxes it.

There may be chromium based browser that are more efficient - Edge is not one of them

Personally, I'd look for either Brave, or firefox. I personally use firefox,

Let me just make one clarification. Firefox is not chromium based, but its my preference.
Thanks. The only time I don't use Safari is when I run into an issue because (I think) the site is programmed for Chromium), so I'll probably stay away from Firefox, but I'll try Brave.

I've switched from Chrome to Brave... for a few reasons:
  1. Brave has built-in ad blocking on all platforms (I use Android, iPadOS/iOS, Windows, and Mac OS)
  2. Brave has a lighter footprint and resource requirement
  3. Brave syncing has improved (this was a main reason for not switching over sooner)
