I have added lyrics to my large library of songs in iTunes.

Songs that have had their lyrics added recently and songs which have had their lyrics edited recently have their lyrics show up in my iPad and iPhone's Music app.

But songs that have had their lyrics added in past years don't show up in the music app. I have an app "Lyrics View" which will show those lyrics, so they're there.

I could go into each song with lyrics and manually edit those lyrics and "fix" my problem. But that's a lot of work.

Does anybody have a different solution on how to get my old lyrics to show up in the Music app?

I assume you're using iOS 10 Music app...

It's a bug... You might wanna try 3rd party apps like Cesium... Or using iTunes to remove and resync all songs, but the problem will recur again until Apple squashes the bug...

I thought this latest remove and resync solved it. Yesterday I started going through my lyrics without finding an exception. Today the 1st song I looked at failed to show its lyrics nor its cover. Lyrics View showed the lyrics. So I will buy Cesium, but note that the bug still exists.

Cesium works - but won't show lyrics if my iPad is in landscape mode. (Its display has the 1x icon indicating that it was written for phones).

I noticed in a recent update of Cesium the developer said they're working on an iPad native version. No idea why it's taken so long, I would have thought it's a no brainer.

If you ever need to automatically add lyrics to your songs try Get Lyrical:- https://shullian.com/get_lyrical.php

If you subscribe to iTunes Match (and I presume Music but I can't speak from experience on that one) then log out of your account before using Get Lyrical, otherwise the lyrics don't always 'stick'. That's the same with album cover editing too, so it's issues on Apple's side. Log back in when finished.

I've subscribed to neither Match no Music, the lyrics I get from Get Lyrical with occasional manual editing. They still do not stick using the iOS Music app. Fortunately I have no issues with album artworks so far.
