Edit the text in illustrator

Hi,

I'm very new in using illustrator and i have to edit a designed .ai file.
I want to edit the text inside a text box, but when i click on the text, it behaves as if i'm selecting an object. I mean i'm able to move the letters one by one..

I've attached also the screenshot.

Anyone knows what is the problem..

The text was converted to outlines. It's not text anymore.

How can i convert them to text again?

You can't. All you can do is retype it using the same font.
