I was excited about the new Ipod Touch applications, as I am searching for a PDA that syncs perfectly to my macs. With notes, calendar and mail I have most of what I need, at least to keep me satisfied until the SDK comes next month. However - how useful are the new apps? Do the notes application sync to mail notes, or at least to Apples sticky notes? And is the mail app a true mail program, or just a mail viewer? Apples site ominously says that the app let's you "view rich HTML email" - does that mean that I can only view them and not write any?

Apples homepage doesn't answer any of these questions. Could any of you that already have installed the apps please tell me a bit more?

I guess this answer is supposed t be obvious.. Since no one has replied.

So I guess i'm stupid too.. cause I don't know either - but would like to. :D

Mail is a true mail app.
It allows you to send, receive, forward, view.
Everything.

But to my knowledge, Notes doesnt sync.
Either will stickies or the notes function of Mail.

Correct me if I am wrong, anybody.

The Mail app on the touch is beautiful to use :D
It syncs perfectly with your mail.app on your Mac. Viewing mail of all descriptions is excatly like viewing it on your Mac (only smaller lol).

For instance, viewing any email that's loaded with graphics and hotspots (like the ones you get from eBay or Amazon or indeed Apple) is nothing short of perfect. Touch an image hotspot on an email and your Touch opens a new tabbed page in safari and loads the URL perfectly.

Not only that... You should see it handling sending of photos! Go to your Photos collection on your Touch. Select a photo, touch the little icon down on bottom left and you get to set as desktop wallpaper and also "email photo". It then animates the full image zooming down into a newly created blank email and waits for you t add the recipient etc. I tested it to my friends email and the image arrives perfectly (about 'Normal' size on your Mac)

Superb stuff... Well done :apple:

Forgot to say... I haven't managed to find a way to sync Notes on the Touch to Notes in Mail or Stickies either... Would be cool if it did.
