I have edited many posts in my time on Mac Rumors, but I think the main reason is so I don't have a double post. However, sometimes, I want people to see what I have updated. Since Forum Spy is written by Mac Rumors, why can we not make it so it shows edited posts too? Thanks. Any thoughts?

Good feature, not sure how hard it would be to do this though.

    How can it be abused?

Absolutely. I believe that as long as it didn't recognize edits made quickly, just as the forum doesn't. I.e. edits where it actually shows the edited time.

I see. So they could take the time made in the forums and put it into the Forum Soy?

I could go in a post, change a letter or add a space.

    Then do it again

    and again

    and again.

Get the picture (double spaced on purpose).

Thus I could keep my posts at the top of Forum Spy. No one would really know.

I would guess that the vast majority of edits are to correct spelling, clarify on a minor issue, or fix grammar. This doesn't seem like a great idea. And there's no way to really know what percentage of posts are edited within the first five minutes, either.

Or alternately, when you edit a post MR could blow a synthesized trumpet sound and an animated .gif could wave a red flag that says "hey, look at me".

Not sure how much trouble that would be to implement either
