Editing Offline Game Application Data/Variables (Plist?)

Hello! This is my first post. I am wondering as to how one would go about editing variables or data such as score, money amount, or different pictures on an offline application on a MacBook Air.

So FAR I have done the following:
[Applications] > [Offline Game] > [Show Package Contents]

I am now able to see a considerable amount of the "inner workings" of the game. Does anyone know where I should go from here to be able to edit variables that would affect the game?

I have installed plist editor, but a quick search through the variables stored there has shown me that is not the place to look.

NOTE: This is all based on my assumption that the game variables are indeed stored offline in the first place.

[EDIT] If this is not the right forum for these questions, where should I go?

It's going to be different for each game. Hacking / modding / installing cheats isn't usually as simple as editing a few variables in a text file.

Have a look online for whatever specific games you want to mess with, they may well have a built-in cheat menu.
