HomeKit Editing/Renaming my HomeKit automations broke every single one of them

Hi everyone,

Basically the title: I edited/renamed all of my automations and the result now is: Every single one is broken (doesn't trigger). I can't believe it I already restarted both my phone and my Home hub (HomePod) and I deactivated and re-activated the automations but they still don't work. Is there any solution? I'm on 16.0.2 by the way. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately not. Or to give some details: On some automations, I didn't edit the name but only certain times. And they broke, too. However, I found a solution: I deleted every single one of them and set them up from scratch again 😖 Was a bit of a hassle but at least, they work again now.

If it makes you feel any better (I know it won't, I'm joking) most of mine stopped working for no reason other than updating to iOS 16. I had to delete and recreate several of them.

I think I’m in this boat as well. Several automations either based on time of day or triggers just…stopped working after iOS 16. I’ve recreated one that’s triggered by a button and it’s still intermittent at best.

Speaking of automations, does anyone have issues with the “Turn Off” after xx minutes feature?

I have an automation that turns my porch lights on when there’s motion and to turn off after 10 minutes. This just doesn’t work. Can’t remember when was the last time it worked… iOS 13 maybe?

Yes, I definitely have issues with that since forever. It works most of the time for me but sometimes it just doesn't work.

Like others, I didn’t edit anything. My automations just stopped working. I’ll start redoing all of them. I’m sure it will go faster than I think it will. At this point I might wait a week for 16.1 to see if it fixes anything. It’s definitely helpful to know it’s not just me.

I have the same issue. I have an automation set to turn on all my lights at a set time. When I change the time to adjust to the sunset (and daylight savings), the automation no longer activates. This is beyond annoying since I have dozens of HomeKit lights each set to specific dimming levels and color temperatures. Apple really needs to get this fixed.
