Hi, maybe someone can help me out.

I have a digital portfolio on DVD I created some time ago. The problem is that I'm needing to update the opening video on this disc, without changing any of the menus, etc. Having ripped the DVD onto my hard drive, I attempted to replace the video VOB file with the new, updated version of the VOB file. Re-burning it causes the disc to play the new opening, however, it will not reach the DVD menu, and simply freezes.

Any ideas? Is this even possible without starting from scratch?
Thanks.

You need to find what VOB file you want to change, make a new DVD with DVDSP or something and then take the new VOB file that contains the video you want, and replace the old one. The one time I did this, the file was the exact same size (I just changed the audio), but I am not sure if that maters.

Hmm, well I've done that. I know which VOB I want to replace, and I have the new one ready to go. Except when I burn it with the new one, it simply does not work correctly. The files are not exactly the same size, so I guess I could try to compress it to match...?
