Hi im 15 i live in the littleton colorado area and im fairly experienced in editing videos. im interested in starting up a little business to earn some cash. my idea is to edit home video or collections of pictures for families, you know just little yearbooks put it to a song do some effects that type of stuff. If anyone has some advice on how to get this started or even if you would like to be my first customer i would greatly appreciate it!:)

If you have a neighborhood newsletter or church bulliten, you could inquire about placing an ad. If you have a community center where clubs meet, or if you live in a community with a bank of mailboxes rather than individual, place flyers in those places.

You should have a couple of samples ready for potential customers. Also, get an idea of what you want to charge. Make it reasonable, but don't sell yourself short. Most importantly, don't take on anything that you are not cabable of handling out of fear of saying "no" as it's not worth it.
 
hi. go to school. learn to do it. then do it.



if you have experience and have no demo reel, no one is gonna hire you.


btw, this is getting to be a very saturated market. anyone who has a mac with imovie is now an editor ( they think ) and a million people are trying to make money by doing the exact same thing. in order to get clients, you need to be pretty good.

thanks that should help i had not thought of the newspaper. My friends mom works there so i might be able to get a discounted or free add in.
