I need to pick up AppleCare for my iMac. Can I use my edu discount in the store? Last time I checked, you can for hardware, and not for software, but I'm not sure where AppleCare falls. Thanks

So in case anyone's wondering, Frosty is correct. Just got back from the Apple Store and got the edu discount

Yeah you can get it on both software and hardware. I don't know where the myth about software came from, but it's not true.

Yeah, the only software restriction is that you are limited to two titles at the academic price (via the Apple Store anyway - you can use any academic software store to get more programs than what Apple offers for less - and often beat Apple's education prices) per academic year. Apple Care discounts are available on every Apple hardware product.
