Education Discount + Recycling Discount?

I am thinking about buying an iphone 3g, but I have a few questions before I do buy it:

1. Does it make sense to wait till January, in case something new comes out?

2. Can you use both an Education Discount and Recycling Ipod Discount on the same Ipod?

3. If I do buy an iphone 3g, and a new iphone 3g (increase flash memory, or decrease in price) does come out, can I swap the iphone I bought for the new one?

You might as well wait until Macworld just to see what might occur. No iPod updates but possible announcements of iPhone news.

No education discounts on iPods or iPhones.

You will able to swap out if your purchase date is within 14 days (I think it is) of the new purchase date. I'm about 50/50 on a refresh in the iPhone memory and pricing so it may be worth the wait. For the discount question, the Educational Discounts do not apply to an iPhone 3G from what I can remember, and I'm not sure the recycling discount works either.

I'm not sure about the educational discount, but you can always try the FAN discount.
