    Hi all,
Is there an educational discount available on final cut pro X available for college students? I sent Tim Cook an email last night and got a reply from his video production marketing guy this morning, saying there is one. (how cool?!) but I can't find it...I can only find a volume purchase of 20, which will sure not be approved by the film department...ideas anyone??

contact your school, to see if you have any discounts. Also visit Apple's education store online to see if there's any

Every once in awhile bestbuy has 20% off apple iTunes/Mac App store cards, ie you could have bought $300 USD of gift cards for $240 this past week, which is cheaper than the education discount on final cut studio 7.

Just look for the sales, as that is the only way for discounts unless you for an institution buying many licenses.

I sympathize but it's pretty cheap now compared to the past.

Since FCPX is now offered on the MAS, perhaps there is no education version then

Where would you see that, just on the Bestbuy home page?

It comes and goes. Not available at this time.

I bought $200 1 years ago and used slightly over $100 so far

Target has a discount of 15% off iTunes cards and if you sign up with the Target Debit/Credit card you save an additional 5%, so that's 20% off FCPX!

    Check it out!

    Percentages don't add like that.

    0.85 * 0.95 * 100 = 80.75 or 19.25% off. Just sayin.
