Is your little brother in school? He may qualify for an educational discount himself. If he does not, he probably will in a couple of years, right? I had my mother pay for my iBook on her debit card, since at the time I did not have one myself. I guess technically we shouldn't have done that, but I felt that since the iBook was for me, and since it was my money paying for it (I gave her cash in advance), the educational discount should apply. Of course, she is a teacher, so she is entitled to a discount as well.
There is a difference between wording your posts like an essay, and making a reasonable effort to not horribly mangle the English language. I am not asking you to carefully proofread your posts and catch every single little grammatical error, just to be a little more careful. While it may take a few seconds longer to type, a post with complete sentences, complete words, and proper capitalization is a lot easier to read than a sentence with "words" like "ur". Does it really save you that much time to drop three or four letters per sentence?
I chat on AIM and IRC quite often, and I almost always use complete sentences, unless I am typing out a one or two word reply to a simple question.
