Hey all,

How to we move the data plan from one Apple Watch to other on EE?

I can’t find any documentation and someone mentioned in another forum that it might require a phone call for EE to do it.

It seems very easy to do this on the phone, so hoping the Apple Watch process is also easy.

I have been doing this on EE for the last few years. Here's the steps that I follow every year.
1. On iPhone, go to Watch app > Cellular > "i" button > Remove EE plan.
2. Unpair old watch.
3. Pair new watch on iPhone (make sure that you are using the same EE sim card on iPhone).
4. Try setting up cellular on the watch app on iPhone. You will see an alert with an error code and some instructions to call EE.
5. Call them and just say that you want to transfer watch plan to new watch. They understand immediately.

Cheers :)

Thanks so much for the detailed post.
Glad it seems to be a easy process, it would be so much better if it didn’t require a phone call, but at least they can sort it quickly.

Thanks again!

Out of interest why do you remove the EE plan. When you unpair your old watch the phone takes a back up and the EE plan won’t be there so EE would have to set you up with a new one surely.

EE advise that if you're unpairing because of an issue you've been having, or you have upgraded to a new iPhone then you don't need to remove the data plan. At this point you will need to select ‘Keep Data Plan’
If you're pairing to another iPhone or are selling your watch, you would select ‘Remove Data Plan’

Oh and if you’re selling your watch then remember to remove activation lock

I think OP’s question was about moving EE plan from one watch to another watch. In my case, I do this when I buy a new my watch and prepare to sell the old watch.

I am not sure if it’s really necessary to remove the EE plan first from the old watch before unpairing (perhaps, unpairing automatically removes any cellular plan?). But I do it anyways. Besides, I also remember EE technical support staff asking me once to confirm whether I had removed the EE plan from the watch before unpairing it.

This is the official line from EE

I seem to remember a while back that if you removed your EE plan then EE had to set you up with a new plan
