it does make me laugh how our british 3G networks are faster than the US 4G networks

Nope, 4G LTE is a lot better than UK's HSPA+ network, about twice as fast. I bought my iPad 3 there when it was first released, I could not believe the speed I was getting, and thought to myself, the American finally had a data network that can rival any of the European one.

And the US's 4G LTE also uses the 700 band, which means much better coverage as well. UK has to wait until next year until Ofcom auctioning off the 800 band, and it is *not* compatible with the rest of the world.

However, I have no complaint about UK's HSPA+ network for now. Specially the price. :D

I was considering 3GB package. But I can't convince myself to pay extra £5 for the extra speed but give up unlimited data from t mobile :-( plus ... It's a 12 month contract :-/

Initially I thought "not bad" when I saw them, but there are some hidden costs, my current plan includes 08xx numbers, EE don't. A free international calls booster, not on EE, and as you say, no unlimited data.

Who knows what else is hidden in the small print?

The headline rate will climb with the extras you are bound to incur. I'm pretty sure I won't be moving from my T-Mobile plan.
