Well, today at the airport, I saw a macbook, WAIT, no, it was an HP!!! damnit that criminal HP mocked the design of the macbook, except the bottom was signature ugly PC black.

Now I want an Al macbook:p

i actually wouldn't want an aluminum macbook. i think the macbooks look fine as they are. i like both the white and black cases and think neither is really PC-ish. i have a blackbook myself and wouldn't trade for an aluminum any day. unless maybe it had backlit keyboards. :)

It's not that I don't like the poly carbonate, its just that aluminum is cooler (IMO), and PC company's are mocking the design. especially HP.

Ok, my MacBook was bought in Dec. 07 and has stress lines everywhere, I really think that everything is going to fall off. I have send it already for a keyboard exchange(cracking) I don't know why stress lines form anyway, but Al casing on MB is necessary.

lmao, were so spoiled by apple, what company in the name of the f*** has computers with Al casing:rolleyes:

My 5 month old MacBook only has some scuffs and fingerprints. I've found aluminium Mac laptops to be rather dent prone.

It would be kind of cool for the macbooks to go Aluminum...

... and for Apple to offer them in White, Black, and regular aluminum colors.

The aluminum casing only gets dented if you don't care of your notebook lol. Toss it around and throw it in a bag with other crap, and you'll have plenty of dents in no time.

But if you do that with the macbooks, you'll have cracking and scratches galore.

I'd do a lot for aluminum macbooks.

Wow, my MacBook is damn near 2 years old and it looks like the day I got it. Maybe you should take better care of your stuff?

I wouldn't mind the macbook staying in plastic if they could make the plastic stop cracking, if they could stop it from getting stained and if they could stop it from scratching if you look at it the wrong way.

I have taken extra good care of my baby. Stress lines form because of "heat". And the crack itself, its a factory defect.

True.

I love the look of the Macbooks, and I don't want them to change to Aluminum. Personally, I think Apple could pull off another great design quite easily without changing thing too drastically about the Macbook. That's just me, though, as most people like the Aluminum better *shrugs*

I hate, I hate, I hate the look of the Macbook Pro. That silver color... I like Black/White MBs much better.

You know, take a look at the Aluminum Powerbooks.

I despise the MBP's looks but love my PB for some reason. I think it may be the iSight fuglifying the lid.

The Black MacBook is the sexiest apple laptop to date, sexier then my MBP, all it needs to steal me away from my MBP is a backlit keyboard. :D

(Thanks UltraNEO for your most excellent post!)

Too funny! :p
I thought my laptop got hot!

The top of the aluminium iMac gets quite toasty as well. I'm all for the nice metal case since it does resist scratches and scuffs quite well. It's dent and bend prone though. Not to mention makes a nice egg in a pinch.

Tougher plastic MacBook body? I just use a leather MacAlly shell.

I love my C2D BlackBook! It looks great after almost 18 months. A few minor scruffs, but nothing serious. I use iKlean on the case and the screen regularly and it keeps the finger prints from being so bad and it makes them easier to clean. The wireless performance is better than my 12" PB, but then again, my kids iBooks had better wireless range than the PB ( but the 12" PB is still THE COOLEST Apple laptop EVER!):cool::apple:

I hate the feeling of warm aluminum against my skin. I really really like how the macbook "soft" plastic feels.
