lmao, were so spoiled by apple, what company in the name of the f*** has computers with Al casing:rolleyes:

Could be because most computer companies don't put design over function. I don't understand the desire to have a soft metal encased laptop. I think the Black Books are the hottest laptops on the market today bar-none.

I'm weird though because aluminum makes my fingers tingle. Its really bizarre. Like I just got an iPhone and the fact that while holding it my fingers are all tingly freaks me out a little bit.

For the life of me I cannot understand the draw to aluminum casing. Is it just because its metal? Is there any actual benefit to aluminum versus the plastic on MBs? The MBs I have played with felt more durable, seemed to feel more solid, less likely to be scratched (I scratched the MBP @ Best Buy with my wrist watch), and, gasp, even sexier! Well, at least the black MB looked awesome, while the white one looked like something you would give a preschooler.

i dont get it

Metal interferes with RF (Radio Frequencies). In this case that's how WIFI operates. I have read many threads over the last 2 years where some have complained that their Aluminum case PC/Mac Pro etc limited their WIFI range. Yet, when tested with a Macbook as an example they noticed a significant range of coverage.

Hope that explains it. By the way I like your enthusiasm for your new apple macbook. I watched your u-tube videos. If you stay as passionate as you seem to be now you'll have a bright future! ;)

if macbook got aluminum casing i would buy it instantly I just don't like the idea of a cheaped out apple with the casing and low res screen

its the family macbook, my computer is an imac

They do have an Aluminum MB its called a MacBook pro or a MacBook Air. I think the Air needs to come in other colors than Aluminum thow. It looks kinda whered. I guess thats what colorware is for:)

This is quite different, its about the fact that HP MOCKED the design.

"Mocked" is not the word you're looking for. "Copied" would be a better word. Mocked is usually used when someone is making fun of something else...
Mock (v): tease or laugh at in a scornful or contemptuous manner.

And personally, I think Apple likes the polycarbonate casing of the MacBook. Its very easy to spot a MacBook in a sea of silver-colored laptops. I think Apple wants the easy-to-visually-ID characteristic of its number one selling laptop. A silver-clad MacBook would visually get lost among all the other machines.

If it's structurally sound enough and not weight prohibitive, I'd like to see MacBooks in the black or silver (or white, if possible) anodized aluminum used in iPod Nanos and Classics.
