G'day y'all,

I know that the 2013 MBA supports EFI booting into Boot Camp natively.

However, is there any way for an older MacBook (like my early-2011 15" MBP) to support EFI booting?

And also, do all Haswell Macs support EFI booting into Boot Camp natively?

My iMac late 2013 is running Windows 8.1 through EFI ( GPT partition )

That explains it. I tried BC-ing my 21.5" Haswell by holding down Option after the restart from BC Assistant, and then I didn't select the EFI boot option on the Windows disc.

For my 27" I just let it automatically select, so that one went smoothly.

But is there any way for earlier Macs to have Boot Camp boot from EFI?

Not sure but I guess it depends on which OS you want to install ?

My iMac won't install won't install Win 7 in EFI ( i could do it after too many tweaks by enabling legacy boot on startup to finish the installation ) but everything is laggy and unresponsive.

I guess you also need BCA compatible Mac not the BC alone.

I'm attempting to install Windows 8.1 onto my early 2011 15" MBP via EFI, but it failed, saying that the partition I was installing to wasn't GPT.

Windows 7's EFI support is a joke.

Well there's a tutorial for making a GPT partition found somewhere. I've seen it before but never had this issue so I can't really share my experience.
