Hi all, curious if anyone knows of (ideally) a turnkey eGPU with the obvious Thunderbolt 3 input, but also a Thunderbolt 3 output (not pass thru), and preferably an HDMI 2.0 or miniDP output as well? I have not found a turnkey eGPU with such a setup, but haven't found a PCIe card with T3 output either, if I was forced to go the enclosure + card route.

I'm running my Mini with an LG 5k Thunderbolt 3 display and a Dell 4k HDMI display (but it also has DP inputs). I've been getting frustrated with some of the lag in just MacOS interface movement, like paging through Launchpad, restoring / minimizing apps, dragging windows, etc. So I was thinking adding an eGPU would help, but driving the 5k display is the issue; can't use an eGPU with HDMI and T3 pass-thru because I need the actual eGPU functionality for the 5k display.

Thanks!

off the top of my head the only one that I can think of is the Blackmagic GPUs but those are older and I think the pro one is not even for sale anymore.

Not sure if this works for your requirements but works for me 👍 VegaII egpu. 4K not 5k but everything just plugs into the dock. Using a dp to hdmi adapt, but a dp to mini dp should work. Website says it supports 5k. Definitely works with egpu.

Oh wow, after reading each of your replies, I think I've had a misunderstanding of how eGPU's work. I was under the impression that the display had to be connected downstream of the device, hence my interest in the eGPU having a TB3 output. Now I'm seeing that the computer can still take advantage of them by simply having them connected; e.g. the BM website showing the GPU connected without a monitor at all. That gives me many options.
