On the intel ARK Website it lists for PCIe configs of the i5-8210Y; 1x4, 2x2, 1x2+2x1 and 4x1.
Having eGPU work on tb3 1x2 has been proving tricky to impossible, anyone know what the controller diagram is for the new air?
Maybe it uses 1x4 for both of the tb3 ports?

It will support it, however I would presume the CPU will heavily bottleneck any eGPU performance.

The chip supports up to 10 lanes. There's probably a 4 lane connection to the SSD, another 4 lane to the TB chip which then drives both ports, a lane for WiFi, and the last one for Bluetooth (or maybe Bluetooth and WiFi are a shared controller.)
