Hi,

couple of days ago, I ordered a Razer Core X along with a Sapphire RX 590 nitro+ for my 2018 macMini. The eGPU case and the GPU has'nt arrived yet. Unfortunately after the order I saw on the official Apple Site that the RX 590 is'nt official supported. After reading some topics on the internet, there were different opinions about the compatibility from the RX 590 with macOS. Some people mentioned that the card isn't supported very well from the System and have compatibility issues. The question is now whether I returned the card to the seller and buy a RX 580 which is offical supported or keep the card and run them.

Has anyone a RX 590 as eGPU in use and can say something about the performance and the support in macOS?

Thanks!

I looked at eGPU.io before, but there are only 2 configurations where users use the RX590 in macOS. They are not very useful to decide if it will run fine or not..

I use a 590 now and it works incredibly fine. I drive 2 displays (one at 3840x2160 and one at 3840x1600). Only major issues are those covered by others on the forum, that being you get the black screen on death on boot, but that’s an Apple problem, not a GPU problem.
