eGPU w/ Pro Display XDR or LG 5K

Hi all!

I want to add an eGPU to use with the LG Ultrafine Display or maybe a Pro Display XDR. I see the Blackmagic options are supported. Is anyone having luck with the Razer Core or Sonnet Breakaway Box with either of these two displays? Full control over brightness, etc.

You need a thunderbolt connection. So i don't think it will work. At least for the xdr. The new lg5k can do USB c

The new lg5k can do USB-C only up to 4K. Thunderbolt is require for 5K.

The XDR can do 6K from Thunderbolt using one of the BlackMagic eGPUs.

The XDR can do 6K without Thunderbolt only if the eGPU is a AMD Navi type (such as 5700 XT). Full control requires a USB connection also. In that case, the Belkin VR2 cable can be used.
