When do you think they will be releasing the El Cap GM? We are on the 7th version of the beta now and this coming Tuesday would mark the 8th if the schedule continues. For comparative purposes, Yosemite had 6.

No, there will not be another beta before Sept 9. There will be one after that. And the GM will release in some day in October.

When iOS 9 GM releases, Xcode will be 7.0. Then OS X 10.11 releases, Xcode is 7.1, as usual.

I would venture sometime late September/early October. Wouldn't surprise me if there are multiple GM releases also.

I expect the 9-9 event will focus purely on iOS 9 and the devices running it.
Hopefully the Apple TV too.
I assume that iOS 9 GM will come out then.

I see no reason why there won't be an 8th beta released of 10.11 coming Tuesday as there's probably no focus on OS X during the event.
I expect the GM somewhere late Sep / early Oct too.

Agree, there are still some pretty major bugs in b7 that need ironing out prior to GM (like Exchange accounts)

Yosemite had 6.

Yosemite had 6 public betas, 8 developer previews and 3 golden masters. And public release was even a different build to any of the golden masters.

I think there will be an 8th developer preview and probably a 6th public beta before the golden masters are released for El Capitan.

I doubt it would be, I reported a bug with ambient light sensor causing the macbook to slow to a crawl and I see they have currently removed the option.

No doubt they are working out the bugs on test units.

What's the rush?
