Wow! The Developer Beta on El Capitan is insane! I got to play on a base model MacBook for about an hour and the UI transitions and swiping was seamless and buttery smooth. Also, keeping the transparency on or off as well as a scaled resolution of 1400 X 900 didn't seem to affect the performance either. I'm very impressed with El Capitan so far and I can't wait until the final version is released to the public! I'm very tempted to download the beta on my little MacBook now. I understand what Alex King was feeling now!

I'm still getting the UI lag when swapping spaces and on some webpages after downloaded the beta yesterday. It's better, but not "buttery smooth."

I find it way smoother on my 15" retina MBP.
I always use a scaled 1680x1050 (retina) and I used to get quite a fair bit of dropped frames in Yosemite.

El Capitan Beta completely borked my network access via both WiFi and Ethernet/Thunderbolt. Continuously requesting I enter my icloud credentials, but cannot connect to network. I have rebooted my router, cleared DNS and have tested other PC's successfully on network. Rumblings of others experiencing same issue. Worse than Yosemite public beta. Rolling back now
