El Capitan GM and 10.11.1 - no "erase free space" function

I'm hopeful that the function exists somewhere. It used to reside in the Disk Utility but is now only (apparently) accessible via the terminal.

Any ideas?

Do you use the erase free space command for SSDs or HDDs (SSDs do not support this).

I'm only using an HDD. And it's unencrypted. Do you see it on your system?
