El Capitan makes my 2008 iMac usable again

Last year, Yosemite made my iMac so slow that I had to turn off all animation, transparency etc. to make it barely usable. Now it's like having a second life.

It's really like the second coming of Snow Leopard.

It has helped my 24" iMac from 2009 as well. There are some performance drops but I feel an overall improvement compared to Mav/Yosemite
