Hi All,

I have searched and not found an answer to this one.

I have two iPhones, one personal and for work. I use the same Apple ID on both phones. I typically use my MAC for everything when in the office, but I have one little bugging issue with Messages. The fact that my iMessages and SMS come through to the MAC messages.app is great, but I have one issue.

A message comes in from an unknown number, and I cannot tell to which iPhone that message was sent to ????

I have to pick up both phones and go the messages app on the actual phone to see which phone number received the message (I have the phones setup so each iPhone doesn't receive messages from the other, in order to keep them seperate, as otherwise I really wouldn't know which phone number originally received the message)

I cannot find any way in the messages.app in El Capitan to show me which number or name actually received the message (iMessage or SMS). They all just appear in the app. Is there anyway around this ?

Thanks in advance...

Adam

I have both our iPhones setup the same way (my Apple ID) and as far as I'm aware, there is no way to tell unless of course it's a message from someone you know.

I've been stumped by the OP's dilemma as well. My "workaround" was to turn on the LED light (under Accessibility Settings) on one of my two iPhones - that iPhone's LED lights up and flashes for calls and notifications. Hey, it works for me for now...

I submitted a request through the feedback link, my first ;-) If anyone else reading this thread would also like to see a way of defining which messages were sent to which phones/name etc... please take 30secs to fill in the feedback form and submit the feature request . Thanks !
