Any chance we get a standalone DMG for the new Safari? I'm looking for Apple to finally convince me to drop Chrome, but they've yet to do it. Muting tabs is a start, but if they would just add Favicons, I could probably be swayed. I would just download EC and run it in beta, but I'm taking the NY Bar this summer and don't want to risk the exam software having some issue with El Capitan.

Safari has always been OS-specific. I doubt it would work on Yosemite.

It's very easy to add favicons. I'm using them now.

Does Safari finally remember zoom levels of websites?
Can anyone see and comment on this?

@c0ppo: It does not. I, too, am hoping for that feature.
