i have had mine for a few weeks and overall I'm happy with the case. it is way over priced in my opinion. The buttons do not work perfectly like my speck candy shell- the power button should have been recessed - I agree with other reviewers that the carbon plate that is glued to the back won't last forever, it will come unsealed - it is a unique case and is a good choice for being unique and pocketable.

Just ordered one. Just an FYI, they have 2 eBay authorized vendors, Case Motions and Tek Cases. Both of these vendors sell it for $49.95 with free shipping and you get the added buyer protection of eBay and PayPal.

I have seen them, are they genuine authorised dealers? I have seen some fake case sellers claim that.

Yes, they are the genuine cases. If you look on Element's website they have a list of North American authorized vendors and they are both on there. Case Motions has a 100% feedback rating too, something that would not be possible if they were selling fake cases.

Just received my case in the mail today. First off, I highly recommend ordering from Casemotions on eBay. I ordered the case on Friday night and it came in the mail today, Tuesday. That's really fast!

Now for the case itself.

Pros:
1-Beautiful design
2-Great ergonomics
3-Great button feel
4-Works perfectly with my Bodyguardz Pure glass screen protector

Cons:
1-Just doesn't feel like a $50 case
2-Could have a bit tighter fit
3-Wish the camera opening came up just a tiny bit more to fully cover the slate color on the back of the iPhone.

My case before this was a Speck Candyshell Satin. I felt like that case was a bit too tight. Every time I took it off I felt like I was going to break the phone in half. This case is just a bit too loose fitting I think. I wish it was somewhere in between the fitment of the two cases. The other major thing is that, while it does feel great in terms of quality, it doesn't feel like a $50 case. I honestly think $35 or so would be a much better price point for this case. I'm not really complaining though. I'm happy with the case overall. It's not the first case I've spent a lot of money on and it won't be the last.

A) first post eh? ;)

B) it's horrible. Looks like a design reject from the 1970's in those colours. Good luck flogging that one.

Thanks. I still have mixed feelings about this case. I think it looks great, but no TPU should cost that much (a small piece of carbon fibre is not expensive either). I'm also worried about it pealing up a standard SP. My other concern is why this case is not very popular, hardly any reviews or online discussion.

Havig said all that, I think it looks great. In fact I think it looks better than the Sector 5 (I realise most people will disagree). I'm tempted to get one just to scratch the itch I have for this case.

But I wish Element could have tried a bit harder and integrated the carbon fibre, so that it was an actual protective feature, rather than simply being cosmetic.

I just received mine from an authorised seller to the uk can anybody else clarify when I press the sides the case clicks as if the case goes over the phone then back is this normal but seems very strange for such a high priced case cheers

Well the ion is going back for a refund the most expensive piece of ill fitting rubbish I have come across ,element never again and your CS is dire too just because I bought it from your authorised reseller no need to just totally pass over my questions, you made this Case never again expensive rubbish

Hi all , how we'll has this case held up for the people that have it ? I may order one tonight. Also compared to the speck candyshell grip , what is slimmer and better quality ?

Can someone confirm if the 'E' logo in the bottom right hand corner is chrome (like this pic) or black (some pics I have seen on Google show the 'E' logo as black)?

I really don't know what it is about this case, but despite the negative reports and high price, I have always really wanted one. It might be irrational, but I just love the design. Every time I get bored of my current one I start looking at this one again.

Are there any other owners out there who can tell me why, or why I shouldn't, buy one?

I did not know about Elements' existence.

A day after I got my IP5S I was looking to get a screen protector and a case. I found a lot of cases that were really expensive and for no apparent reason. I was about to give up when I came across this exact same case in some shop that sold tons of them but mainly teenybopper stuff.

I got it for $8 and it fits perfectly with no sag, buttons are super sensitive. Later I found that its the Ion5 which sells for $50 + shipping. So obviously mine's not an original but it is amazing nonetheless.

If the fake is so good, Im thinking the original must be in a class by itself considering it costs 6-8 times more.

Authentic v Fake

Hello, I'm new to this interesting forum.

Considering to buy the Ion5 for iphone5s, but I have few doubts about. First of course is the price v quality, second is being ripped off by paying around 50$ for maybe fake case.

My choice is to buy strait from Element site. I will do that but first I like to find out the difference between genuine case and fake one, if any.

Some cases have the ELEMENTCASE logo on the side and I assume this is the authentic one.

What about this professional review?

Look at the pictures, no large logo there

Any thoughts.
