Nothing compared to the real one? Your experience is much different than most who have bought both. Your fake could of been crap but many are pleased with their fakes. I'm very happy with my fake black ops and glad I paid 7x less than I would of if I got ripped off, I mean bought from Element.

Yeah the fakes I have seen have not been all that great, but I am a very picky person. Some people may not care about the differences. The fit and finish was sub par, as was the anodizing. Some just paint them instead of anodizing, and others use lower grade materials than standard aircraft aluminum. I have read reception on some fakes are terrible and others not so much. The shockproof material used in the Vapor Pro is honestly why I bought it. I didn't buy the case for its looks; I bought it because phones often get dropped and I wanted something to protect the corners, which are where drops are the worst on phones. I chose the Element after the initial light sensor issues with the Otterbox, which have since been fixed to my understanding. Also, Element designed the case and makes it in the USA. The cost of labor is higher, and the cost of designing the case fell on them. I like to give my business to US companies given I am a US citizen. At least from my experience, the ripoff Element cases are nothing compared to the original, true ones made by Element. Your results may vary.

has anybody had any of the screw get stripped? if so, how were you able to get them out?

i have two that are now stripped and not sure if there is any easy way to get them out so i can swap them with the spares i have.

Just putting it out there:
I have had an authentic vapor pro purple for about a month now and I haven't noticed any of the paint fading. I take my phone in and out of my pocket over 100 times a day.

I'm torn between the formula 4 and the vapor comp.

I ordered a fake vapor pro, loved the look but it was far to slippery for me. The comp had the rubber on the sides so will provide better grip.

But the formula 4 is half the price.

Could get a genuine formula 4 and a knock off comp I suppose.

vapor comp patriot

I have the Formula 4, very underrated case with full coverage. I love that I can just pop the bottom piece off if a connection isn't fitting. Doesn't look quite as slick as the Pro, but probably offers greater coverage and is half the price. I've been satisfied.

just received my vapor comp patriot yesterday. All was fine until i realise that i can move my case front and back in the case. Seems loose even when it is fully tightened unlike my vapor comp stealth which has absolutely no movements.
After swap between both cap and case, i realise the fault lies with the patriot white cap which seems to cause the problem.

Anyone has any idea what would element case recommend me to do?

I got my Vapor Comp Patriot today. Wow, I am not happy at all with the way that it fits. You can actually see through the gap between the phone and the case in the top left hand corner and it moves quite a bit. I despise a case that does not hold the phone snug. Here is the response from Element. Requested an RMA.

The gap you are referring to is the air space of the case. The air space is designed so in case you accidentally drop the phone the screen won't shatter. If the air space was not there and you dropped your phone the metal would hit the screen and shatter it.

Haha, that is a laughable response from them!

It really, really is.

It's called a bad milling job that passed QC since they never really tested it on a phone. As long as the machine releases / mills the case within it's tolerances it's good enough for sale.

This is why smaller companies like E13ctron and Aeris shine quite well, they have more of a personal and caring touch when it comes to these cases.

FWIW, I've gone through two legit Comps, and one KO Comp, guess what, the COMP is the only one that fits properly, go figure. Least ElementCase accepts returns quite easily -.-

I also returned my vapor comp patriot due to it being able to move up and down despite fully tightening the screws. I topped up for a vapor pro white edition instead as the comps plastic isn't impressive.

The vapor pro is well fitted, and also doesn't degrades my signal.
However, there is 1 dusk particle stuck on the case while powdercoating, the sleep/wake button is slightly slanted, the screw area isn't very well finished ( some excess paint on it. I did not return it as i do not want to pay the shipping fees back again as this time it will not be reimbursed.
Overall the Vapor pro is a much better choice. Their customer service replies is prompt just that QC department seems to need some improvement.

It seems to appear that way since dthmtlgod neglected to include the entire conversation and only pasted in a portion that would portray the interaction in a disparaging light.

Next time, if you're going to quote a CSR, I'm sure that they would appreciate it if you shared the entire conversation instead of a snippet.

Any pics of it, I'd like to see some real life ones vs the marketing ones...

No problem, just snapped these quick. I've been using the case every day for about 5 months now.

Mine started to show signs after a week. I really liked the look of that case but couldn't justify the finish wearing for that amount of money.

Hi,

The gap you are referring to is the air space of the case. The air space is designed so in case you accidentally drop the phone the screen won't shatter. If the air space was not there and you dropped your phone the metal would hit the screen and shatter it. If you would like to return the case we do offer a 30 day return/exchange policy. Would you like me to issue you a return RMA?

Best,

Question on this whole "GAP" issue

I have placed an order for a Vapor Pro Stealth and am concerned about this "GAP" issue that I've been reading about here. Does it exists for ALL VAPOR lines or specific ones like the PRO, COMP, etc? Or, specific variations within the PRO series like the R8?

Is the GAP on 1-side, 2-sides, or is it uniform all-around the case (eg. balanced).

If it's nicely balanced, I don't mine that at all but if it's inconsistent from 1 side to another...that will annoy the heck out of me!

Thanks in advance!

anyone seen the new flux finishing range of vapor pro? red blue and design your own phone case. Do you think it will fade similar to the royal purple?

They took the custom shop down already. I got an email about it over night, tried it as soon as I got into work, but the link just returned to the main page.

Now the link's gone entirely.

Looks like they've updated with the Flux finishes on the Pro and Comp (gone are my beloved oranges) and added a "1010 Centre" Black Label model with a short RF insert to the Pro line.

I just got the epiphany edition yesterday. I must say this is such a beautiful case I almost don't wanna use it. But, I sure will.

No problem, just snapped these quick. I've been using the case every day for about 5 months now.

Tks to your pics, and based off them
I placed an order for a Formula 4 last night, time for a change odors or my 4S...

Really hope you enjoy, it's been a great case for me. If given the choice I still think I'd go Vapor Pro, but not for 3x the price. And the Formula 4 is more convenient with the easy-off bottom piece anyways.

Let me know what you think when it arrives!
