The comments here are (naturally) unfair: it’s less than 10 bucks, shipped, from a reputable company, AND comes with a decent looking extension cable. That’s not bad at all.
No, but you can buy it on Amazon. I used to have an Elevation stand that used it, and it works great. It will keep whatever you have it on in place, and doesn’t hurt the finish of what it’s stuck to."It has a micro air suction surface at the bottom, which ElevationLab has used in prior products. This micro air suction is not adhesive, but it's quite strong and is able to keep the MagBase securely attached to a desk or a table"
Whatever that is, can a 3D printer create that?
I tried MagSafe for one night. All it did was add bulk to the back of the device and produce unwanted heat.Yeah, I think I'll just stick with my existing qi chargers which are all working exactly as they should -- or plug the phone into a lightning cable if I need to use it as it charges.
This all just sounds like a bunch more stuff to buy that would add almost no utility or convenience to me.
I'm liking Magsafe as a quick mounting mechanism in my car, but I've never quite understood the appeal of it on a horizontal surface.
Some people feel it is not required, a waste of money, a product to support another product that is not required and a waste of money. They expressed their opinions. But you consider those opinions to be unfair. What a ridiculous viewpoint. The comments here are (naturally) unfair: it’s less than 10 bucks, shipped, from a reputable company, AND comes with a decent looking extension cable. They're so bulky that it kinda defeats the purpose, I'm kinda expecting Apple to/hoping Apple will come out with a "new magsafe 2" when the new laptops come out that's much smaller and works on both their phones and laptops if they're really dedicated to pushing magnetic chargersthis chargers look like accessory hell. i rather just use a cable.
I recently bought this. It's a bit pricey, but I really like it. It has 15W charging unlike most other docks, the build quality/ design is great (very Apple-like) and it can charge your apple watch and airpods (or any other QI device) at the same time. There's also a version without the apple watch.Remember the old iPhones with 30 pin connector that cam with a dock? You could just plop the phone in there, it charged, had a tiny footprint and held the phone at a convenient viewing angle. Still looking for a convenient successor to that where you just touch it with the phone and it sticks to it magnetically and charges without having to plug anything in.
The nice thing about this product or the similar Spigen product is that you can easily detach the MagSafe when you need to take it with you and it doesn't leave a sticky piece of tape stuck to your nightstand. It's only 10 bucks for what looks like a polished product rather than some jerry-rigged, duct tape solution.Ever heard of a 50c stick of Blu Tac? Seriously, this product is a rediculous cash grab 😂🤣
There are a ton of MagSafe stands for phones that hold the phone in a viewing angle.Remember the old iPhones with 30 pin connector that cam with a dock? I was unconvinced for months and continued to use the various Qi chargers we’ve had around the house. But because my wife had a few too many times of not putting her 12 Pro on the Qi charger just right, or worse she would attempt to place her phone on the charger while laying in bed and instead send the phone to the ground. So I bought a MagSafe charger for her, along with one of those inexpensive aluminum stands that hold the charging puck, and it was such a great solution for her, I followed suit shortly after.I tried MagSafe for one night. Sure, just popping the charger off in a pinch might be cool but I have never encountered a scenario where I am so frantic to unplug my phone.
