So I went out and picked up a few DVDs today.

Okay, well, three. And guess what? Only one of the three seems to get along with my computer. The other two launch DVD Player, and then immediately send it into a beach-balling lockup...accompanied by a clicking sound coming from the DVD drive.

It's odd--it's not like they're scratched or anything--they're fresh out of the case. Mind you, an older DVD did this also...

DVDs with this issue:

Princess Mononoke
Cowboy Bebop Remix 1
Invader Zim 1

Any ideas?

Data protection maybe? I wonder if they work on other Macs or (more likely) PCs? Could you try them?

Data protection on the Bebop DVD, maybe, but on the Mononoke DVD--I doubt it...that's back from the early DVD era... '97/'98, I believe.
