1 will the 8mb buffer of my new hard drive make any change and 2 is it hard to replace it

eMacs are a pig to take apart and replace parts.

Secondly, no. You won't see much change.

You should see an increase in performance, not so much because of the buffer but because in general a newer drive of higher density has greater data throughput. Whether or not it would be a noticeable difference I'm not so sure. 🙂
