Hello,

I have had an Emac (10.2.8 version) for about 2 years. It burned cds, played dvds, etc for about a year and a half but then it just stopped. Well, not actually, It still plays a DVD RANDOMLY If its new for some reason. Ive tried everything and when ever I put a disc in it just spits it back out. Someone please help

dirty lens or bad drive. my money is on a bad drive. a firmware update might help, and checking if the cables are properly seeded in the back of the drive.

You can open up console in the utility folder and place and disc in the drive and look for any errors that might pop when you do insert a disc. that will probably shed more light on the situation.

in all likely hood your'll need to buy a new drive.
