eMac screen goes black with vertical violet line

Continues to run but screen is off. Will sometimes come back on after a few minutes. Works fine after unplugging and letting sit for a while.

Can you post a picture of it? I have no clue what you are talking about😕 The violet line may be frozen pixels.

my old emac had a problem similar to this, and after doing a fresh install of the OS it ran fine. I would recommend using an external drive to save all your data and doing an erase and install.

The line only last for less than a second and happens suddenly without warning, no time to take picture. The line is in the center of screen for only an instant.
