I pre-ordered the new iPad and I was hoping to receive an order confirmation email after a couple of hours but instead I got this.

Thank you for your recent order with the Apple Online Store. We
appreciate your business.

We have been unable to obtain payment for your order.

We will continue to attempt to obtain authorization for your order for
one week.

If we do not receive a response from you within one week from the date
of this email, your order will be cancelled.

We offer the following options for resolution:

1. Please contact the financial institution that issued your credit card
to review the reason for decline. You will need to resolve this with
your financial institution before this order can be processed.

2. If you are unable to resolve the issue with your financial
institution, you may cancel your order by visiting: <Apple> You will need to login to your account
with your Apple ID to locate this order.

3. Please visit <Apple> to change your form of
payment to a different credit card. Please ensure the cardholder name,
billing address and phone numbers on file for your credit card match the
information on your order. You will need to login to your account with
your Apple ID to locate this order.

4. If you wish to use a different form of payment, such as a Money Order,
Cashier's Check, or Wire Transfer, please call us at 1-877-422-5368.

Sincerely,
Apple Online Store

I called my bank and I found out that I don't have enough funds on my credit card. I'd like to change my the credit card I used on this order to one that has enough funds on it but it says in the email to do that I have to login with my Apple ID. The problem is I placed the order as a guest. Is there a way I can cancel my order or change the card's number? Instead of doing the whole thing again.

It was going to ship March 16. If I pre-ordered again it'll ship March 19 :(

EDIT: I tried calling Apple, but their lines are busy.

Just let that one cancel out on its own (no worries to have money taken since there are no funds to begin with) and pre-order again this time using your card with enough funds. And don't forget to use your Apple ID and not as a guest so you can track or modify your orders as you see fit. Hope that helps

Thanks, I'll do as you suggested but I do have funds on the card I used just not enough. When my order gets automatically cancelled will they refund my card or did they not withdraw anything in the first place.

Pay some money into the credit card account? I did this once to buy something that was greater than the limit.

It will not push thru since there aren't enough funds. Imagine this. You're buying a DVD at the store for $20 but you only have $15 in your credit card. The store won't charge you $15 and sell you the DVD and then bill you for the remaining $5 plus tax.

Nothing will be refunded because IN THE FIRST PLACE, they have NOT charged you since there are not enough funds with your original order. They cannot give you something back if they haven't taken anything

it's just to check if there really is an existing card. The $1 haven't really left your funds

I got an 'Order Acknowledgment' email from Apple. Is that the order confirmation email?

What are u doing buying an iPad if u can't even cover it with a credit card?!

Unless I missed something priorities man.

This reminds me of the poor college students with iPhones..

The $1.00 was just a test authorization. Your order will not go through unless the entire amount is available in your CC account.

Ha I don't mean to be offensive but how do u not have enough money on your credit card for a $500-$600 device?

Do u carry a credit card balance month to month?
It's because I got the 64GB Wi-Fi+4G model.
