My friend in Japan sent me an Apple Store gift card. The email version that is sent to my email address/Apple ID.
Since it is sent to my email address, technically I could redeem it in North America using my North American Apple ID even though my friend sent it from another country right?
I mean my friend's credit card simply gets charged in whatever country. Where it is redeemed is my choice right? I could use any Apple ID email I have from any country and use that same Apple Store online store right?
e.g. friend pays 300000 yen to send me a gift card, but that becomes $3700 CAD if I redeem it in Canada.
Obviously the physical cards can only be used in the country of purchased but I think these email cards must be different.
