    Hello,

I have a few IMAP mailboxes (Google, Yahoo and a couple more). All my emails are threfore stored on the server of the provider and locally synchronized.

I wonder if there is a software to back up locally the emails from the provider's server.

Just to be on the super side safe.

    Please advise, thanks, daniele

Those messages are all stored in the folder below in your users folder. So if you were to backup that folder to an external drive it would give you a copy of your messages.

That ~ equals your persona user folder.

    Code:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2

    Thanks for replying.

Do you mean that the IMAP folders are locally sincronized and therefore their contents is fully available in the path by you above mentioned?

    Thanks,
    Daniele

Yes exactly. Just beware though that if you have deleted messages from the IMAP server then copy those folder back and launch the Mail app while on the Internet, the IMAP server changes will push down to the Mail app and delete them messages again. So you would want to disconnect from the Internet then move the folder back and use Mail to look at the messages.
