eMail notification software like eprompter...

Is their any software for mac that will alert you to when you have an email? idealy near the clock area? On my windows system I use epromter which is ideal which just sits in the taskbar:

What i'm after is something like that for the mac, If theirs nothing like that for macs can you get widgets that will do it? ePrompter lets u view the emails as they arrive without having to download them as well as delete and reply to them.

I use the Gmail notifier for Gmail, it appears in the menu bar and tells you when a new Email comes up.

is their anything like that for general 'pop' accounts? Sounds ideal otherwise if it didnt just do gmail accounts.

I use Mail.appetizer to notify me of emails. It's excellent.

I just open Mail..
Then, when new mail comes in, the dock icon updates with the new mail count!

Works great for me..

I have my mail setup to bounce the dock icon when a new mail comes in, gets anoying after a bit if you ignore it but I guess thats the point? LOL Can also try Growl
