I'm using the web based email system but would like to switch to mu mac mail browser to send and retrieve emails. I am receiving emails thru mac mail but not able to send emails out. I believe I have the settings correct in the preference but obviously not if I can't send out....can someone help me with what goes in each field?
I am using a Macbook, System 10.5.8, In Outgoing Mail Server when I go to edit server list I put in gmail outgoing for the description field and smtp.gmail.com for the server field....in advanced window I have custom port 465 and use SSL checked. I am using wildblue as my internet provider....looking on the web it looks like they recently changed to google mail and that these were the setting s that I needed for outgoing mail.
