Dont know if this is the correct board but i could use some advice

If i have an email address joe@aol.com and i get riddled with spam because I put my email in the wrong place (spam sites). If i switch too joe@gmail.com (just switch domain) will i still be prone to spam

It's a completely different email address, on a completely different email service. Think about this logically - an email to joe@aol.com doesn't go to every email address with joe@.......... contained therein. So answer is no you won't. However if you're the type of person who signs up for spam sites then chances are you'll get spam

Hi

In principal you should not.

But spammers often test email all known email domains. So you may be out of loch even if you change domain.

The truth is that you should be careful where you enter your email.

A simple approach is to have 2 emails. One for commercial use (read entered on any website) and one for personal use (read family friends know business links).

Whatever you use, antispam solutions do exist and dont forget blacklists

Cheers
