Email sends from username@mac.com instead of @me.com

I apologize in advanced if this is in the wrong thread.

I have an issue with MobileMe setup on my iPhone 4GS running iOS5. When I add my MobileMe account to my iPhone it creates it with myusername@mac.com. When I send email from it, it sends from myusername@mac.com instead of myusername@me.com.

This is starting to confuse people who knew my @me.com email address.

I have not migrated to iCloud as of yet because I need to upgrade my laptops and iMac to Lion.

Is there a way to prevent this or change this setting?
