So, for those of you in the UK, I emailed Tim Cook about the Tory Governments plans for the 'Snoopers Charter' (USA people, think NSA, but the UK government wants to make it legal)

I got a generic reply from his email address pointing me at the his statement on the Apple Webiste, but, it's was signed 'Tim'.

Will this actually be from Tim or someone from his team?

Thanks

So basically, you wrote to a U.S. CEO (as opposed to someone who could actually effect change in your own country), and now you're star struck? Is your post trying to bring attention to the plight of your national security policy, or just to make you feel giddy if someone famous wrote you back?

Perhaps you could email Kim Kardashian about all this selfie silliness.

Or...just a simple curiosity question.

Don't know if troll or not, but Tim Cook will never receive this mail.

The public will never know. Even if we let the laws expire and the government is no longer legally allowed to collect all this data, it does not mean they will not just do it anyway! These people are above us and our laws do not apply to them!

It is not like our government has never lied to us!:p

We are witness to competing visions and charm offensives of folks representing two opposing visions.

It seems that those in favor of violating our constitutional liberties with secret courts and activities of dubious are appearing to require about 5 representatives to equal 1 Tim Cook.

Sorry to disillusion you man but it's highly unlikely Tim would answer and respond to that email.

He was probably having a bubble bath and watching House whilst an intern sorted through his public inbox and sending out generic responses.
